Mad Honey is a rare type of honey native to the Himalayan regions of Nepal. It is produced by wild bees that collect nectar from a specific variety of Rhododendron flowers (Ericaceae family), which grow exclusively in high-altitude mountain areas.
Through this natural process, grayanotoxins from the rhododendron plant are present in the honey, giving it its unique and distinctive character.

Himalayan Honey is a pure, natural wild honey harvested at lower altitudes in the Himalayas of Nepal. It is collected twice a year, in May and December. It offers the natural benefits of traditional honey, with a smooth floral taste and does not contain significant amounts of grayanotoxins. It is smooth, aromatic, and traditionally enjoyed for its rich floral character and natural sweetness.
Mad Honey Limited Reserve is a rare seasonal honey collected once a year from specific Rhododendron flowering zones in extreme high-altitude Himalayan regions. It naturally contains grayanotoxins, which give it a distinctive character and may produce sensory and relaxation effects depending on individual sensitivity and dosage. It is a rare and unique wild honey with a complex and highly distinctive profile compared to standard wild honey.
Both products are 100% natural, unpasteurized and sourced by our team in Nepal, but they differ in origin of nectar, composition, and sensory profile.
Our Mad Honey Limited Reserve is harvested from extreme high cliffs in remote Himalayan regions, where wild giant bees build their hives on steep rock faces.
The Hunt is carried out by experienced Gurungs honey hunters, following a centuries-old tradition passed down through generations. The process is extremely physically demanding, dangerous and requires deep knowledge of the terrain, weather conditions, and natural hive locations.

Our Mad Honey is 100% pure, raw, unpasteurized, and unprocessed, which gives it a naturally unique texture, color, and flavor profile.
Texture
Naturally runny with a thin very liquid consistency. Light fermentation may occur as part of the natural process. Occasional bubbles or a slight “popping” sound when opening the jar are normal. Stir well before use.
Aroma
Distinctive and slightly pungent aroma, different from any standard honey varieties.
Taste
A complex and bold flavor profile with floral and spicy notes, followed by a mild sweetness and a powerful bitter finish.
Appearance
Ranges from amber to deep golden tones depending on the harvest and seasonal conditions.
Our Mad Honey is raw, unfiltered, and unpasteurized to preserve its natural composition.
We do not filter the honey, in order to maintain its natural elements, including pollen, enzymes, and other naturally occurring compounds from the nectar source.
Natural fermentation
A light natural fermentation process may occur over time. This can result in slight bubbles, foam, or sediment, which are normal characteristics of raw honey.
These natural variations are a result of seasonal conditions, floral source, and storage environment.
Important note
Our Mad Honey is a natural, unprocessed product. Stir well before use. Store at room temperature.
